Abstract

This workshop will be of interest to those who question whether monogamy or non-monogamy would be a good personal choice, and it will also be useful to therapists and educators who are helping people wrestle with the questions and challenges posed by choosing non-monogamy. We believe that polyamory cannot be “tried on like a hat or a new dish in a restaurant,” but instead must be chosen as a preferred way of life over monogamy, whether partnered or not, due to the inherent challenges involved.

Participants will actively wrestle with some of the most important issues people in non-monogamy deal with, including:

  • What do love and commitment mean to me?
  • What do I seek in intimate relationships?
  • How do you deal with sharing not only your partner, but yourself?
  • What does safe sex really mean to me?
Juliette has conducted this workshop in Spain and in the Netherlands and she and her co-facilitator will adapt it to the current conference.
